Travel requirements depend on current China entry rules, nationality, treatment length, and personal circumstances. For short stays, some travellers may be eligible for visa-free entry. For longer treatment courses, we help coordinate hospital documentation and visa-related preparation where appropriate. We arrange hotel near the hospital and coordinate airport pickup and all ground transport.

Do I need to speak Chinese?

No. All coordination is handled in English — including appointment scheduling, record translation, in-person accompaniment, and post-treatment documentation. You do not need to speak any Chinese at any point.

Do I need to travel before I get an assessment?

No. We review your records remotely and provide a specialist pathway recommendation and indicative cost estimate before any travel commitment. Many cases also include a remote video consultation with the specialist before you book any flights.

What if Beijing is not a suitable option for my case?

We will tell you. Our case review is designed to give you an honest assessment — including when Beijing is not appropriate, not ready, or not meaningfully better than your local options. We do not benefit from sending patients who are not good candidates.

Will my insurance work in China?

Some Beijing hospitals support direct billing for selected international plans including Cigna Global, Bupa Global, and AXA. Coverage depends on your specific policy, the hospital, your diagnosis, and pre-authorization requirements. We verify eligibility before any appointments or travel arrangements are confirmed.

Who makes the medical decisions?

The physicians at our partner hospitals make all clinical decisions. BeijingMedAccess is a coordination service — we facilitate access, translation, scheduling, and logistics. We do not provide medical advice or recommend specific treatments.

Are medical fees paid to BeijingMedAccess or to the hospital?

Medical fees are paid directly to the hospital. BeijingMedAccess charges a coordination service fee only, which is quoted upfront and separate from any clinical costs. We do not handle, hold, or intermediate any medical payments.

How is my medical information handled?

Your records are shared only with the specific hospital and specialist involved in your case review, and only after you have confirmed you want to proceed with an assessment. We do not share your information with third parties, marketers, or other institutions.

What if something changes after I arrive?

We remain your point of contact throughout your stay. If a clinical finding changes the plan, we liaise with the hospital team, explain the situation in English, and help you understand your options. We do not disappear after you land.
